Pics, computers, and backup
Since I last posted, I've managed to get a new laptop (which means all my old email is still on the tag-sale-special computer, so if you've emailed me with no response, give me another go).
I've converted most things over, but my digital camera is bursting with pictures still not downloaded, mainly because I can't decide where to put them. I work with my laptop most (what a godsend!), but my automatic backup that I really need for pics is on my other computer--the one I'm never on anymore. And I don't want to clutter my new computer with a gazillion pictures. Or do I?
It drives me nuts that I can't access the backup hard drive on my home network since my wireless is merely a router, not a hub. And I won't be buying a hub anytime soon. I think the thing I really need to do is get a backup plan for my laptop, like plugging it in regularly to the external hard drive on the other computer to back it up, then I can just put the pics on my laptop for easiest use.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. In the mean time, the workshop/garage is built, Jim got in the wiring for the ground floor (which I did not take pictures of since I was sick and sleeping on the couch), but he still has a lot of work ahead of him.
