LeapFrog recalls Didj game rechargeable batteries & recharging system
LeapFrog's rechargeable batteries with the recharging station for Didj Custom Gaming System apparently has a burn hazard to consumers. The batteries can overheat if the game system is placed into the recharger upside down; so far there are 12 overheating reports with one minor hand burn.According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission who has issued a recall of the approximately 35,500 units made in China,
"The Recharging Station for Didj was sold as item number 30676, which is printed on the box and on the bottom of the recharging base. Consumers should . . . contact LeapFrog for a full refund. Consumers can continue using the AC adapter connected directly to the Didj handheld game."
