Hair Hazard

Well, I finally did it today; power-head vacuumed my hair--while attached to my head.

For those of you who don't know me or haven't seen me in a long time, my hair extends beyond my fingertips. I'm usually careful about vacuuming, toilets, cook stoves, barbecue grills, closing doors, and the like, but this morning I realized my hair has reached new lengths.

It is the longest it has ever been, which means that the next time I put my hair in a pony tail and try to brush it before putting in the elastic, I won't be able to get the brush out of my hair if the end has any knots. That happened to me once before and I had to call my son to the rescue--or drop my pony tail.

But this vacuum thing caught me completely off guard. It took me a few seconds before I realized what was causing my scalp pain and that I need to stand up quickly away from the power head.

Fortunately, I still have all my hair minus a few strands unlike some other unfortunate long-haired people who in time past have lost their scalps to machinery. My lesson is sure today. Never again vacuum until I've put all my hair above my waist. Or cook, or grill, or go to the bathroom . . .

LOL! That's awesome. When I was a teen one of our church camp counselors had very long hair that even braided would touch the ground. Amazing.
