BYB: Combating a Pissy Attitude
I am soooo not in the mood for Blog Your Blessings Sunday which is a huge sign I had better do it. This might take me a while--much longer than it will take you to read, so I'm going for only five today. Here goes:
- All of my kids are alive. (45 seconds)
- I have a warm house to live in. (45 seconds)
- Even though my computer hard drive is corrupt and won't run, I have a back up computer thanks to listening to God to buy an inexpensive iMac at a tag sale this summer. (30 seconds)
- Both of my parents are still alive, and so is my Grandma. (90 seconds)
- On my last dismal post CyberCelt suggested I blog my blessings, and even though it peeved me so much I wanted to delete his comment (I didn't), he was right. (1 minute)
What? Christians can't say piss-hole? Bah! Go read about Peter in Matthew 26, verses 31-35 and 69-75. He cursed in his piss-hole attitude when he flat out denied the One he loved most. But he got through it. God restored Him (John 21:15-22) and God will me too. At least I'm real like Peter was. God can work with that. He can't work with fake, and fake I won't be.
So there, CyberCelt. You got your blogged blessings. And blessings they are indeed, but you pissed me off suggesting it!
Maybe I'd better torture myself some more and blog them every day to force this foul mood out of me. Along with reading Psalm 119:9

And lovely. I have a faith article to write this week due Friday. Figures. Guess it's going to be about being genuine and cleaning up when we've made ourselves a disgusting mess.

Hello - I just ran across your blog a couple of days ago - through Candy's blog. And I just wanted to let you that I think it is great that you are real. Even if you are in a bad mood - I really admire you being real - it is hard for some to do.

Hope your doing better. Your in my thoughts and prayers. I think it is ok to on occasion to have a "pissy attitude" it helps us know when we are having a good one! You intitled to a few of those in this life. Your amazing for creating a life that your children will remember. What wonderful things you are doing here. You have opened up like now one else I have ever seen on line. Thanks for opening up and sharing.

It wasn't your fault to have pissed me off. I was in a VERY foul mood and your comment hit me wrong despite your excellent reason for posting it--of course you would; I'm on your (hope I still am) Blog Your Blessings Sunday blogroll!
Now that I'm through that horrible space, I greatly appreciate your comment and suggestion to blog my blessings. It pissed me off because it was just what I needed to hear, and I didn't want to hear that. I'm actually indebted to you and have no ill feelings toward you at all now.
Sometimes telling someone what they need to hear, even if you aren't aware of it, brings backlash and contention, but the wise will heed the correction and come through better. (What the Bible says, not me.) And I have come through it better. So THANK YOU. (And I'm about to make a post of this on BYB Sunday.)
I'm sorry you received the brunt of my anger and was blindsided by it. Please forgive me.
And please forgive me for not deleting your comments, but you have done nothing wrong. It was completely me, not you, and keeping your comments posted vindicates you.
