Tweens and Deodorant
What is it about tween boys that they don't like to shower, brush their teeth or use that all important deodorant? IJ is at the stage where he MUST use deodorant. Otherwise, it's like that deodorant commercial where the golfer raises his arms after scoring and everyone including squirrels pass out from the smell.
I've never smelled anything so horrible before. But then again, most of the people I've been around probably use deodorant.
The smell got so bad, Jim took out the deodorant, wrote on it, and stuck it out on the sink for IJ to see first thing the next morning. The strategy was to put it in plain sight with a plain reminder. Before the deodorant had sat in the medicine cabinet and we relied on IJ to take it out each morning and use it. Bad plan. The rule of tweendom is, if it's not in plain sight, don't expect a tween to use it, especially when they aren't used to stinking and putting something under their arms other than their hands to make disgusting fart noises.

Of course, you've got to thank a tween if you want him to repeat the process, right? RIGHT.
Now, to get him to take a shower everyday. It's already in plain sight and painting a message on it is out of the question....
