Hide and Seek Cat
I go into the girl's room tonight to put them to bed and I hear a faint mewing that sounds like it is coming from inside the wall. I lean close to the big closet with no door to see if maybe Sadie is caught behind the long sleeping bag that was fallen between the broken sliding door and boxes of books, blocking the way out for anything stuck in the left side of the closet.
No cat. She mews again. The sound is not from the closet.
I back up toward the main doorway and open the upper door of a narrower closet next to the big one--the upper part that housed all the bedding my kids had to put away every morning before the boys had their own room in the addition. I don't see her.
She's been in hiding ever since we got Diesel, our Great Dane puppy, but had begun to venture out. I thought she was doing better, but now I wondered.
Sadie mews again. Where could she be? Just as I'm about to haul out extra blankets, CJ reaches down and opens the bottom drawer. Cat hair covers IJ's nearly bare pants drawer. Out pops Sadie's head.

Now I've heard of trying to hide from dogs, but this is a little extreme. Perhaps it's nothing. Maybe she is just trying to tell me IJ needs more pants.

You are an inspiration, and it's true. It's a wake-up-call for all of us that want more but don't really need it.
