Pouring the Walls
(Thank God we were able to retrieve the information.)
Here we're pouring the walls.
To the left you can see the big truck that transported these forms.
The forms stand in these frames when not in use.
You can see the plumbing is already laid in the ground.
Every now and again, the walls needed extra support with boards.
These pipes are where toilets will eventually go.
The filled cement at the top of the form. That rod sticking out is a piece of rebar
which is short for reinforcing bar.
It was through this that I learned cement is the powdered stuff.Only once it is mixed with water does it become concrete.
What you see above, is concrete.
The terms are not interchangeable as I previously thought.
I don't recall how long it took for these wall to set,but I believe it was a couple of days.
PS. Jim fixed the Jetta. Yea. :)
