So DO You Think You Can Dance? (hype)

So, do you think you can dance? Have you tried out for the show or thought about it? http://www.fox.com/dance

Me? Not a chance. Sure, I can move to a groove--I get lots of practice dancing around the shoes and toys in this little trailer, but I think I probably look silly. (Could be the baby attached to my hip or the funny hops I do when I jam my thigh into the table corner.) Still, I like to watch the show every once in a while. It reminds me my place is with my family, not any longer on stage--especially not dancing.

Now I can sing, and used to perform quite a bit. I would have jumped in a heartbeat to audition for American Idol had it started earlier in my life. For the longest time I wondered how I would've done in front of the judges. (I'm over it now.) In a way, I'm glad to be off the stage, but now that I'm no longer there, I find I've developed stage fright. Not with talking on stage--only singing. Strange. But I'm not worried about it. I don't see myself singing before an audience any time soon.

So, have you tried out for either So You Think You Can Dance or American Idol? If so, how'd it go? I'd love to hear about it.
