Our Fourth of July

Happy Independance Day!

We decided to forego the crowds and take it easy at home today. (Keeping track of six young kids in large crowds isn't our idea of fun.) The kids went to swimming lessons this morning. It was nice because not many other kids were there so ours got extra one-on-one attention. Here's a few pics from this morning:

Drat! My camera's was too slow to catch Isaac jumping off the board. However, had I tried to get this picture of water splashing, I never would have made it. I think it looks pretty cool.


Later on, Grampa came over for a cookout. Let me tell you, today we sure could have used a few of them fold-up Table-Mate trays. You know, those things they sell on TV?




We don't have any, but with the space limitations in the house, they'd really be helpful. I've thought several times about buying some. Maybe in the future. BTW, from what I hear, you can get them at this site for a bit cheaper than the TV offer: http://www.tvproducts4less.com/table-mate-2.html I haven't checked it out yet myself, but probably will soon. Be sure to investigate things like shipping to make sure you're really saving.

We're not going to see fireworks tonight, but a few of our kids got to see them this past weekend when they went with Jim to a nearby race track. I've never been, but I guess their display is quite spectacular. Better than the local setup. I'd like to see them sometime, now. Actually, I've not yet been to the race track, either. Maybe it's about time for that to change.
